I’m now a member of the Mazdaspeed Development Team. Not that I do anything more than autocross locally, but still pretty cool. Now to go look at all the expensive RX8 parts that I can’t afford!

Congrats!
Now find a way to persuade the higher-ups to develop some performance/turbo motors for the road cars. Hint that Volvo has greater sporting pretentions than Mazda does right now, despite Mazdas’ excellent handling characteristics (I’ve owned 3 Mazdas and two Volvos and my wife also has a Mazda, so this is very personal to me, haha).

I think with the current motors available there isn’t much room for going forced induction and the SkyActiv motors are still young enough to make anything else a pipedream at this this point. I do think what they were doing with the Mazda6 as well as the LMP cars is pretty cool, getting in on the diesel game against Audi and all.

So what does being on the Mazdaspeed dev team entail?

It means access to the Mazdaspeed competition catalog as well as deals on all those parts and any other stock parts Mazda supplies. You can earn contingency money if you do well at any large event that they sanction and a few other small perks.
